CEB offers €500,000 grant to Moldova under transfusion security project
The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) will provide Moldova €500,000 in non-refundable assistance for co-financing the project “Transfusion Security in Moldova”, reports Info-Prim Neo.
Under the contribution agreement between the parties, CEB had previously given a €6 million loan for the project. The loan was for equipment and perishable materials for the production laboratory of the National Blood Transfusion Center.
Deputy Minister of Healthcare Oleg Grama said that the project did not initially include secondary plasma fractionation; priority was given to ensuring sanguine components and transfusion security instead. The €500,000 grant, plus the savings made throughout the project, will allow the purchase and technologies necessary for ensuring the efficient activity of the component for secondary plasma fractionation, and the training of personnel.
