CCF Moldova has launched the “Rostul Postului” (“Purpose of Fasting”) social campaign, an initiative to raise funds for supporting hard-hit families and children, IPN reports.
Until April 15, donations can be made through the virtual restaurant. By accessing the platform www.rostulpostului.md, the donors order food that they cannot actually eat and the paid cost goes to CCF Moldova’s account for helping families.
The proceeds will be used to provide children with warm meals and to enable these to develop household skills owing to the psycho-emotional and material support offered by specialists of CCF Moldova for a durable change. “Since the campaign was launched, we have directly helped 101 children and their families. During the first year of campaign, we contributed to developing social crèches for children younger than three,” said CCF Moldova.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, there are over 559,000 children in the Republic of Moldova and each seventh of them lives in absolute poverty. The highest poverty rate is among children. This makes the parents to often leave their children in the care of the state, in children’s homes, where they have what to eat, but lack affection.
CCF Moldova annually helps over 700 children to grow at home, in a family environment.
