The Constitutional Court (CC) on December 22 suspended the law by which the so-called “billion law” was abrogated, until the case is definitively solved, following a challenge filed by the Pro Moldova MPs Andrian Candu and Vladimir Cebotari, IPN reports.
The Court held that if the effect of the challenged law is not suspended, the law could be put into practice and could affect the state’s economic and financial security.
The CC also rejected the request to suspend the law on the functioning of languages spoken on the territory of the Republic of Moldova that was adopted by Parliament on December 16, which was submitted by PPPDA MPs Dinu Plîngău and Maria Ciobanu. It also rejected the application to suspend Law No. 236 of December 16, 2020 to amend a number of normative documents that was filed by PPPDA MP Liviu Vovc.
