CC meeting centering on Shor Party’s constitutionality adjourned until June 12

The meeting at which the Constitutional Court (CC) is examining the Shor Party’s constitutionality was interrupted until June 12. The announcement was made by the CC president Nicolae Roșca, IPN reports.

The parties were familiarized with the material of the case. “The Court announces an interruption until June 12, 2023, 10am, for the pleadings to be prepared and presented to the Constitutional Court,” said Nicolae Roșca.

The Constitutional Court started to examine the Government’s request to establish the constitutionality of the Shor Party on May 10. Since then, the parties presented their positions and put questions. According to the Government’ representatives, there is evidence that the party by its activities so far has acted against the rule of law principles and endangered the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova. The representatives of the Shor Party denied the accusations, invoking pressure exerted by the Government. Sympathizers and members of the Shor Party gathered in front of the CC during several days. They said that no matter what decision the Court takes, they will remain supporters and members of the Shor Party.
