CC halts checking constitutionality of Parliament’s decisions of August 28

The Constitutional Court (CC) decided to stop the examination of the constitutionality of the decisions made by the Parliament on August 28 by three votes to three, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the legislation, the non-constitutionality is approved by a majority vote. In the given case, the election of the PL leader Mihai Ghimpu as Speaker in the absence of the PCRM cannot be considered non-constitutional. The CC’s decision is definitive. The next sitting of the Parliament was scheduled by the Alliance for European integration for September 10. One of the leading figures of the PCRM Vladimir Turcan said that the Communist parliamentary group will attend the sitting and that the party complies with the Court’s decision.
