Case on October 14 blast remitted to court
The criminal case opened against four persons who caused the grenade explosion in central Chisinau on October 14 was sent to the Buiucani Court, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The prosecutors accuse the authors of the explosion - Eugeniu Bujac, Vasili Zaharov, Alexei Ganu, and Timur Dari – of illegal holding of munitions and murder attempt.
According to the prosecutors, on October 14, 2009, the four persons, being under the influence of alcohol, took an RG-42 grenade and went to the Great National Assembly Square, where activities were held to celebrate the Day of Chisinau. The offenders joined the crowd and exploded the grenade near the Triumphal Arch.
Thirty-seven persons received injuries in the blast and were hospitalized.
Eugeniu Bujac is also accused of keeping psychotropic substances. The police found drugs at his place during a search. Three of the accused had been earlier tried.
The four persons were remanded in custody.
