Case of underground leader Vanea Pisateli sent to court

The investigation into the case of the underground leader Ion Druta, alias Vanea Pisateli, was completed and the case was sent to court. He is accused of illegal sale of arms and ammunitions, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the criminal case was started on August 4, following information from the Security and Information Service that a TT pistol and a grenade launcher RPG-18 (Mуха) were found in a wooded strip near Varzaresti, Nisporeni. The criminal was arrested in three months. When he was arrested, he was together with another criminal Ghenadie Vechiu, alias Cliford, who was put on the wanted list for drug smuggling.

In two days, the prosecutors charged Ion Druta with the illegal sale of arms and munitions. He was put under arrest for 30 days. The case will be examined by the Buiucani Court. The Chisinau Appeals Court is trying another case involving Vanea Pisateli, over the kidnapping and murder of three men at the end of 2000.

The investigation into the case of the other criminal goes on.
