The Prosecutor General’s Office sent the criminal cases started against the Russian citizen Eduard Bagirov to the Buiucani district court. Moldova’s legislation allows sending a legal case to court when the accused avoids the investigation process. If the accused refuses to come to the hearings, the case can be tried in their absence.

Eduard Baghirov is accused of participating in the public disorder of April 2009 as part of a criminal group. On October 19, he was announced internationally wanted because he ran away after put under house arrest.
According to the prosecutors, in 2008 and the first quarter of 2009, infiltrating himself as a ‘blogger’ and ‘writer’ in the social environment and using masses manipulation technologies, he took part in the planning and taking of provocative measures aimed at undermining the electoral process before and after the April 5, 209 legislative elections.
Under the subversive plan, the measures were to turn into a Twitter revolution, while the responsibility for the serious consequences of the violent acts was to be shifted onto the opposition forces. The inappropriate fulfillment of the duties by officials of the Ministry of the Interior and the Security and Information Service on April 6-7, 2009 formed part of the same scenario.
