The persons accused of putting counterfeit euro banknotes totaling over €60,000 into circulation will stand trial. The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the investigation was completed and the case against the three-member organized criminal group was sent to court, IPN report.
The accused remain in custody. A woman is under house arrest. The group members are aged between 30 and 47. They were earlier tried for other kinds of offenses.
The three persons were arrested at the end of last November. The counterfeit currencies, including dollars, were brought from abroad. During searches, the police found arms and munitions held illegally, valuable items and currency that were seized and subject to examinations.
The accused face 7 to 15 years in jail.
