Casa Modei and former ASITO building remain property of Vladimir Russu

Casa Modei and the former head office of ASITO company remain the property of businessman Vladimir Russu. Veaceslav Platon lost the case in which the Chisinau Appeals Court passed a final and irrevocable judgment, IPN reports.

“The judges accepted the appeals of buildings’ owners and annulled the illegal decisions that enabled Platon to misappropriate property that didn’t belong to him. The court ruled that the buildings situated at 182 Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd and at 57/1 Mitropolit Bănulescu Bodoni St remain ownership of “SCM Development Mol” and “Continental Business Invest” SRL, which are owned by businessman Vladimir Russu”, says a press release issued by Continental Business Invest.

“Even if it was a forced lawsuit, without any pertinent legal argument on the part of Veaceslav Platon and the lawyers who represented him, the trial lasted for almost a year and caused huge moral and material damage to the lawful owner,” runs the press release. Continental Business Invest noted that during the trial the payment of rental for the entities that rent areas in the two buildings was partially suspended.

“It was a very difficult period, but we were confident and banked a lot on the correctness of the judicial system. Even if there were also moments that lacked legal logical and controversial decisions that ensured the delay wanted by Platon, we are glad that the trial is over. On the other hand, we are concerned about the fact that in a democratic state, such as the Republic of Moldova, somebody can question someone’s fundamental right to ownership. We learned the lesson and from now on will be very vigilant in each of our projects,” said Vladimir Russu, being quoted in the press release.

The businessman considers Veaceslav Platon remains an imminent danger to state security. “This character has very dangerous tactics for putting his illegal schemes into practice. Based on my own example, I can firmy say that Platon remains active and connected to the political and juridical communities in the Republic of Moldova and each possible tie with him should be treated with precaution,” stated Vladimir Russu.

The given case was started in March 2021, after Vladimir Russu learned about a controversial court judgment passed in December 2020, by which the two buildings were offered to controversial businessman Veaceslav Platon “for keeping and use”.

Veaceslav Platon left Moldova last July. He is reportedly in London at present.
