The Moldovan publishing house “Cartier” has issued a new book “Mourning Diary (26 October 1977 – 15 September 1979)” by Roland Barthes, in its Biblioteca Deschisa (Open Library) collection. The book was translated from French by Emilian Galaicu-Paun, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a press release of the publishers. Edited mainly in Paris and in Urt, from October 26, 1977 to September 15, 1979, “The Mourning Diary” contains 330 items, chronologically arranged, the title belonging to Roland Barthes. “We have a title, a nomination act,” said Eric Marty, a disciple of Barthes. “In my opinion, it's not an effusion, but a genuine piece of writing,” reads the release. According to Maurice Nadeau, the director of Quinzaine litteraire, “the piece is not yet writing. We could only imagine what could become of it.” The book appeared in Paris and Bucharest at the same time. Cartier sells it for 70 lei in its bookstores.
