On World Read Aloud Day, the bookshops “Cartier” have launched the event “A Waiting Book” by the model of “A Waiting Coffee”, IPN reports.
The movement “A Waiting Coffee” originated in Italy’s Napoli. It is an act of common sense and charity. The clients can pay in advance for one or several coffees without drinking them. The persons who cannot afford a coffee ask the seller if they have “a waiting coffee”.
This way, the bookstores “Cartier” set up special places for waiting books bought by generous readers for persons fond of reading who cannot afford to buy books. “Waiting books” are available from the library situated at 126 Ștefan cel Mare Blvd in Centru district and from the one located at 68 București St.
World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) is focused on bringing awareness to the importance of reading aloud and sharing stories and to advocate for literacy as a human right. WRAD was created in 2010 by LitWorld, a nonprofit believing in the power of reading.
