Cars driven within Chisinau’s central park, in defiance of law
Drivers daring to drive within Stefan cel Mare public garden violate and defy the law and jeopardize the citizens’ health and lives, say Chisinau’s city hall and police.
Many drivers drive their cars across the public garden and park them there, defying the fact that they endanger the security of the people resting there. The police says the ones driving their cars through the park severely violate the traffic regulation, but nobody has been worried by this fact, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the press service of the Chisinau city hall, cars must not be allowed in Stefan cel Mare public garden, not even the cars of the owners of the bars within that area. Banning the access and punishing the offenders is the police’s competence.
“Under the locale rent contracts, it’s banned to drive and park cars on the territory of the public garden, except for the ones supplying the restaurants. The latter ones can move within that area only at special hours, when there are few people around,” Info-Prim Neo has learnt from Mariana Vasilache, the head of the city hall’s press service.
And the road police says cars may not enter the area of Stefan cel Mare park and promises to clarify the situation, while the drivers breaking the regulation will be fined.
“We’re searching the offenses now. However never has anyone complained so far about the presence of cars on the territory of the public garden,” says Tudor Capatana, the press officer of Chisinau’s police.
Info-Prim Neo has asked the opinions of Chisinau’s city hall and police about the cars in the public garden on June 19. By the end of the day, lots of cars were seen in Stefan cel Mare park.
