Three operational swift response motor vehicles and 25 sets of IT equipment were handed over to the Ialoveni Police Inspectorate on September 14, IPN reports.
The head of Ialoveni district Mihai Silistraru said the vehicles and equipment were transmitted as part of the transfrontier project “Bridges for Building Confidence between the Police and the Citizens of Ialoveni District and Iasi County”, with financing from the Romania – Republic of Moldova Joint Operational Project 2014-2020. In the framework of this project, almost all the police officers from the district benefited from training courses moderated by colleagues from Romania.
Attending the handover, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ioniță said the sets of IT equipment include last-generation computers, copiers and printers. “The financial value of this equipment is not so important. I think the fact that you were able to go to Romania, to interact with mates, to exchange impressions, to inform each other about practices you use in your work daily and to effectively contribute to building bridges between Romania and the Republic of Moldova was more important for you,” stated the diplomat. The conference to complete the project will be held also in Iasi.
In the same event, Minister of Home Affairs of Moldova Ana Revenco said the cars and the equipment will help to make the work of the police swifter and more efficient.
