The football team CFR Cluj, for which Moldovan international Catalin Carp plays, failed to qualify for the final of Romania’s Cup. It was eliminated by its great rival Universitatea Cluj, IPN reports.

The score after the normal period of the game was 0-0 and the winner was decided in the penalty shootout. Disappointed with the defeat, the coach of CFR Eugen Trica tendered his resignation. The team missed the chance to play in the European cups as it ranks last in the championship.

Catalin Carp joined CFR last year, after leaving Dinamo Kiev.
