A new vocational orientation pilot-project intended for students has been launched in Moldova. Within this, a number of activities will be held to train teachers to guide last-year secondary school students and first-year students of technical professional education institutions in choosing a career. There will be worked out a strategy for extending the program to make it nationwide, IPN reports.
The project JOBS Moldova “Professional Orientation in Business Community and Schools” is implemented based on an agreement of cooperation between the Ministry of Education of Moldova and the Zurich University of Teacher Education of Switzerland.
JOBS Moldova is based on the experience of a similar project implemented in Romania. The goal of the project is to support the young people in the process of transition from school to training or labor market by providing individual assistance in choosing a personal and professional path. The specific objective of the project is to test the materials worked out within the JOBS Romania project and to adjust them to the education system and social context of Moldova.
The pilot-project JOBS Moldova “Professional Orientation in Business Community and Schools” is implemented between January 2016 and August 2017 by the Professional Capacity Building Institute of Moldova in partnership with the International Projects in Education Transfer Center and the Zurich University of Teacher Education. Among the local partners are three education institutions: Vocational School No.7 of Chisinau, Secondary School “A.I. Cuza” of Balti, and the Lyceum “I.L. Caragiale” of Orhei.
