More than 2,000 job opportunities for young persons have been presented at the Career Fair in Chisinau on Thursday, September 27. The young visitors of the fair had the opportunity to choose a job from a large variety of offers, to negotiate directly with the potential employers, to learn about professional formation opportunities offered by 4 educational institutions, as well as to get expert advice on employment issues from the specialists of the Labour Inspectorate. The visitors, mainly students, graduates or young persons seeking a better job, welcomed the idea of having a career fair for them. After choosing an offer, the young applicants left their resumes with the representatives of the potential employers, who will get in touch with the applicants to deliver them an answer. The director of the Chisinau Employment Agency (CEA), Ala Supac, says the current edition of the fair is focused on job opportunities for qualified young workers, but there are plenty of offers for graduates of universities, too. The visitors were given access to the CEA database which includes more than 5,000 job opportunities, Ala Supac said. The employers participating, about 50 in number, were pleased by the possibility to recruit new personnel and to complete their databases with new applications for future recruitments. By offering jobs within the borders of the country, the employers can motivate the young specialists not to leave abroad for work, the representative of a bank-employer said. The career fair for young people is part of the Joint Action Plan of the Ministry of Education and Youth and of the National Employment Agency that aims to redress the situation in Moldova as regards the workforce and to provide better opportunities for young persons. In the first eight months of this year, about 6,200 jobseekers were registered with CEA, of whom more than 35 percent are aged 29 years and younger.
