Car that exploded on Columna St wanted since 2009

The VAZ car that exploded on Columna St in Chisinau on June 7 has been wanted in Ukraine since 2009. The Russian license number found at the scene was stolen from another car in Russia in 2005. The information was made public in a news conference at the Ministry of the Interior on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu said the car entered Moldova illegally, bypassing the border crossing points. The police are considering all the possible versions. The persons who had connection with Igor Turcanu, who was injured in the blast and died in the hospital several hours later, are being questioned. “The examination centers on Turcanu’s entrepreneurial and political activities,” said Alexei Roibu. The police have not yet confirmed that a bomb was planted inside the car. It was established that there was no gas cylinder in the car. The president of the Moldovan Tennis Federation Igor Turcanu, who headed the electoral staff of candidate for mayor of Chisinau Mihai Godea, was buried at the Central Cemetery in Chisinau on June 9. A legal case was opened over intentional murder. Mihai Godea has been already questioned in this case. There will be questioned other persons as well.
