A man aged 53 perished in a road accident on the Chisinau – Leuseni road, near Capriana village of Straseni district, in the evening of May 17. The man violently crashed his car into a tree, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, there was only the driver in the car, who suffered serious injuries and remained blocked inside the vehicle. Eyewitnesses alerted the emergency services and a team of rescuers and a SMURD team travelled immediately to the scene.

The man was extricated from the car and was given first aid. When the ambulance doctors arrived, they continued to resuscitate the man, but he died on the way to the hospital.
