Chisinau Municipal Mayoralty intends to open an asylum for old men this autumn with a capacity of 200 beds, in the district Ciocana of the capital, where it should be built a maternity. The interim mayor, Vasile Ursu, told about this on Tuesday meeting, regarding the development plan of the municipality Chisinau. Ursu required to specialised services to redraft the unfinished maternity according to standards of an asylum for old men and to present the costs reports. He proposed that taking into consideration the fact that the asylum would be located on a surface of 4,5 hectares, this should accommodate not only old men of the district Ciocana, but also from the other four districts of the capital. Thus, the interim mayor mentioned that it would not be necessary to build by an asylum in every district of the capital, as the government required. The unfinished construction, together with other buildings of the ex-executive committee of the Dniestre district of the street Mircea cel Batran, shall be transmitted for free, according to government decision, to the National Dwelling Company, in order to change them into apartments. After the municipal council of Chisinau showed unsatisfied with the government decision, the maternity remained at the balance of the municipality.
