Serghei Tarnovschi will participate in two finals at the European Championship in Germany. The National Olympic and Sports Committee states that the athlete qualified for the 500 m and 1,000 m events, reports IPN.

Tarnovschi finished in second place in the qualifying round for the 1000 m event, where he competed against five other athletes. Next came the 500 m race, where Tarnovschi was clocked with the best time.

The finals will take place on August 20 and 21.

Earlier this month, Serghei Tarnovschi won the 5,000 m gold medal at the World Championships in Canada. The world champion title was won by the athlete exactly one year after he won the bronze at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
