Cannabis found in Chisinau park
The police discovered a few hundreds cannabis plants in a park on Podgorenilor Street. Adrian Jovmir, press officer of General Commissariat, told Info-Prim Neo the plants grew on an 80 square meters parcel. The park’s administrator was warned as it was his duty to uproot the plants or to call the police.
Besides, 650 poppy plants were found in a garden in Ciorescu village, Chisinau. The woman that grew the poppy said she used it for baking. Nevertheless, she could face a fine between 4,000-8,000 lei under article 217 of the Penal Code.
Recently, Chisinau Police chief Silviu Musuc announced weed parcels were discovered in several parks in Chisinau. Moreover, the number of intoxicated drivers increased.
In 2010, 1172 drug-related infringements, including 407 in June and 338 in Chisinau, were dealt with by the police.
