The minister of economy proposes that the subsidies for apple growers should be increased by 50-60 million lei so that all the producers receive compensation. In a program on the portal Unimedia, Andrian Candu said the number of apple growers who applied for subsidies is higher than projected, IPN reports.
“We must find an additional sum of 50-60 million lei to also compensate those who weren’t covered by the initial calculations. I think we can identify this money. If I convince my colleagues from the Government, we can find the additional amounts to help the producers,” said the minister, noting that if need be, the Government will assume responsibility before Parliament for such a bill.
Speaking about the economic situation in Moldova, Andrian Candu said that Moldova’s exports rose by almost 3%, which is a lot in the current situation. “Given the regional context, the regression of the European economy and the commercial war waged by Russia on Moldova, it is a good result to have higher exports,” he stated.
He also said that owing to the signing of the DCFTA with the EU, exports to Italy increased by 30%, to Romania by 30%, to Poland by almost 30%, etc.
As to the fuel prices, Andrian Candu anticipated that they may decrease by up to 1 leu during 10 days, if taking into consideration the trends on the foreign markets.
As regards the reports that he will be proposed for Prime Minister in the future Government, Andrian Candu, who is also the deputy chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM), said that he does not tend to get this post and such an issue wasn’t discussed inside the party. “The team of the PDM is a capable one, with people who can occupy all the senior state positions,” he stated.
