The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) will not form a coalition with the parties that do not promote Moldova’s interests and want the Association Agreement with the EU to be terminated, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Candu, who is the deputy chairman of the PDM, said the party of which he forms part sees no other development model for Moldova than the European one. “The Democratic Party will not form a coalition with the parties pursuing goals that run counter to Moldova’s interests, which are related to reforms and the commitments made by our state as an associate of the EU. We will not form a coalition with those who demand that the Association Agreement should be ended. I personally and my colleagues from the PDM do not see another development model than the European one, which can ultimately lead to the entry into the EU,” stated the Speaker.
He added that no other development model actually exists. “Let someone come and prove that Moldova can develop in another way in the geography of the existing bodies and in the current geopolitical context,” said Candu, referring to those who oppose Moldova’s European course.
Earlier, the PDM made a call to all the pro-European parties and unaffiliated MPs of pro-European orientation to sit at the negotiating table to discuss the formation of a pro-European coalition. Candu said they will have discussions only with the parties that want Moldova to become integrated into the EU.
