Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu said the current government will never accept actions or statements that damage the country’s image and offend the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. “We will every time respond and the response for Rogozin is that he became a persona non-grata on the territory of Moldova. He can no longer enter and cross the Republic of Moldova,” the Speaker stated in a news conference, IPN reports.
Andrian Candu said the Moldovan authorities officially informed the Russian authorities that the so-called festivities on the left side of the Nistru are not authorized and all the persons who will go to take part in those events, either journalists, artists or officials, will have to go back. “We do not have what to celebrate. We commemorate the conflict of 1992 and the people who sacrificed themselves for the country’s independence,” he stated.
The Speaker noted that Igor Dodon knew about these problems and Dmitry Rogozin knew about the attitude of the official Chisinau and that he will not be allowed to enter the EU airspace. The fact that he boarded a regular flight and endangered the lives of passengers is a provocation. He then provoked again when he named the combatants fascists and the negotiations with the Moldovan authorities begging.
Andrian Candu also said that the Moldovans have dignity and struggled for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Only correct conduct, respect and development of relations by such an approach are accepted.
The Cabinet on August 2 approved a decision on the imposition of restrictive measures whereby the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin was declared undesirable on Moldova’s territory. According to Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur, Rogozin made a number of public statements that are unfriendly, denigrating and offensive to Moldova and its people. In an interview for the TV channel “Rossia 24”, Dmitry Rogozin made assertions that defame Moldova and the country’s citizens. He also made statements insulting the Moldovan authorities.
