The Party “Democracy at Home” has launched public discussions to which it invites all the candidates of the right for the post of mayor general of Chisinau municipality. In a news conference at IPN, the party’s candidate Vasile Costiuc said candiadtes’ political programs will be discussed and, as a result, a common city management program will be thought up and this will be signed by all the pro-European candidates.

According to Vasile Costiuc, based on the programs of the candidates for mayor of Chisinau, they will produce a synthesis that will be undertaken by all the participants. This will be implemented through a common program and candidate who can be supported in the runoffs in Chisinau. When the common program is signed, the one that will reach the runoffs will be supported unconditionally by all the signatories of this document.

“By such a gesture, we will give a clear signal to society – that we have the capacity to sit at a negotiating table and to listen to diametrically opposed opinions. As a final goal, we should identify an amicable solution acceptable to anyone. We tell society that we care about the city where we live and want an efficiently administered city, no matter who is elected mayor of those of the right,” stated Vasile Costiuc.

According to him, the message that will be transmitted by the candidates that will take part in the discussions is that in autumn they will be able to combine efforts so as to achieve the result expected by society, which wants the country to become part of the EU and to have decent living conditions at home and wants to see honest politicians who are decided to take the government affected by corruption in their own hands.

If the invitation made by the Party “Democracy at Home” remains without an answer from the pro-European candidates, Vasile Costiuc will inform the citizens about the refusal and incapacity of those who want to manage the City Hall to discuss in a civilized way. “A mayor general should be a mayor of everyone,” stated Vasile Costiuc.

He also said he will personally transmit invitations to take part in the discussions to all the candidates, except for the candidates of the Party of Socialists and the Shor Party.

Vasile Costiuc suggested that the roundtable meeting should be staged at the Chisinau City Hall this week. The exact place and hour are to be set together with all the candidates of the rights.
