Candidates of Russian-Slavic Party in Balti and Chisinau present programs

The candidates of the Russian-Slavic Party of Moldova for the posts of mayor of Balti and Chisinau presented their programs. They said it was hard for them to decide to run given that the term of the mayoralty is of only a year, until the local general elections of 2019. They both noted the cities need modernization and proper management, IPN reports.

Alexandru Matu, who runs for mayoralty in Chisinau, stated that if he is elected mayor, he will solve the problem of traffic jams, dirt and problems related to the water supply, electricity and building so that the people who left the city want to return. He considers Ion Ceban as his main opponent in elections.

The candidate for mayor of Balti Oleg Topolnitski said he is the best candidate for the ‘northern capital’ of the republic as he has always lived in this city and knows well its problems. The lack of jobs, which is the most serious problem in Balti, can be solved by attracting private investment and by creating favorable conditions for developing businesses. He has served as municipal councilor during three years and understood how the mechanisms at the City Hall work from inside and knows well the things that go wrong in the city.

The Russian-Slavic Party of Moldova was registered in February 2017 after this changed its name from the political party “People’s Movement for the Customs Union”.
