Candidates of Chance Party excluded from electoral competition in eight localities

The Chance Party’s candidates for the posts of mayor and councilor in eight localities were excluded from the electoral competition. The decisions were taken by the district electoral councils after the Central Election Commission (CEC) ascertained a number of violations committed by the party, IPN reports.

The CEC’s decision referred to nine localities. All the electoral districts complied with the decision, except for the council of Alexanderfeld village of Cahul district.

The Chance Party’s candidates for mayor and councilor were excluded in Târșiței village of Telenești district, Țareuca village of Rezina district, Ișcălău village of Fălești district, Dobrogea Veche village of Sângerei district, Merenii Noi village of Anenii Noi district, Pitușca village of Călărași district, Răculești commune of Criuleni district, and Joltai village in the ATU Gagauzia.

The CEC adopted the decision after taking note of law enforcement agencies’ reports on the illegalities committed by the Shor Party in the campaign prior to the general local elections of November 5. The violations included the method of financing the election campaign, corruption of voters by offering and promising to offer benefits to them for persuading them to exercise their right to vote, use of other funds than those from the Electoral Fund account in the election campaign, passing of the Electoral Fund limits and use of undeclared funds and materials.
