The candidates for the presidency can submit applications starting with December 5 until December 13. Such a decision was taken by the special commission for the election of the head of state, which convened immediately after the Parliament’s sitting where the date of elections was set, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”The applications will be accepted between 2pm and 5pm, while on the last day until 7pm,” said the commission’s head Tudor Deliu. The list of documents that the candidates must present will be published on the Parliament’s website. “We want to be an electronic government. I think the future President must know how to use a computer. As to the medical commission that will examine the candidates, I will ask the Ministry of Health to empower a medical institution and to select the doctors that will form part of the commission,” said Tudor Deliu. He also said that he submitted a proposal in the commission’s meeting. “One of the applicants sued us because we did not register him as a candidate for the November 18 elections. He did not provide documents, but an epopee about his life. In order to avoid such cases, I proposed that the candidates should be allowed to file the set of documents and have the medical examination only after they confirm they are supported by at least 15 MPs,” stated Tudor Deliu, adding that his proposal was yet rejected.
