Candidates for CNA directorship can apply until Friday

Candidates for directorship of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) can submit their applications until Friday, September 14, inclusive. The applications will then be examined within three workdays and a date for the contest will be determined for anytime between September 19 and 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. The members of the Parliament's Legal Commission decided to meet next week for a special meeting to examine each candidate. Victor Popa, head of the commission, said that the names of the candidates would be revealed only after the application deadline. CNA directorship candidates must have higher legal education, at least 10 years of experience in a relevant field and mustn’t be members of any political party. The candidates with criminal record or who are unable to perform the job because of health reasons are not accepted. The organizational and professional qualities of the candidates will be assessed in a written test and an individual interview. The results of the contest will be evaluated and announced by the commission at a special meeting between September 28 and October 1, which is the deadline for the commission to present the candidate for the post of director of the National Anticorruption Center to the Parliament. In late May, Parliament adopted a bill reforming the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption. The institution will be renamed to the National Anticorruption Center beginning as of October 1.
