The candidate for mayor of Chisinau on behalf of the Shor Party Reghina Apostolova promises municipal allowances of 1,000 lei to all the pensioners who live in the capital city. The money for allowances could be obtained by increasing taxes on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, the candidate was quoted by IPN as saying in a press briefing.
“We know that the pensioners in Chisinau municipality live at the poverty line. Their pension does not cover even the monthly subsistence level. They barely manage to pay for public utilities, to buy medicines and food products. We aim to offer the pensioners a bonus of 1,000 lei to the monthly pension,” stated Reghina Apostolova.
Her team also aims to increase these allowances in the future by making the fiscal policies stricter so as to collect more revenues into the budget.
“We know that our initiatives are not at all simple, but they are achievable and we are convinced that we will be able to implement them successfully,” said the candidate of the Shor Party.
