The candidate for premiership Pavel Filip said the creation of favorable working conditions for the business sector will represent an important objective of the governmental team. He made related statements in a meeting with representatives of the National Employers Confederation on January 19, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip said he had been a member of the Confederation’s Board during many years and realizes very well that a constructive relationship with the business sector is very important for overcoming the difficult socioeconomic and financial situation in Moldova. The budget costs cannot be endlessly optimized and the assumed reforms should be promoted, including those provided in the Association Agreement with the EU. This won’t be possible without positive signals from businesses.

The Confederation’s head Leonid Cerescu reminded about the memorandum signed by the Confederation with the Government in 2014. “Few of the provisions of this memorandum were implemented. Though the social dialogue is institutionalized, it does not produce results. We discuss a lot. The Government seems to be agreeing with use on the problems we raise, but when decisions are taken or a bill is adopted, the proposals formulated by the employers cannot be found in the final version,” he stated.

Both Leonid Cerescu and other representatives of employers referred to the burden of additional costs put on the shoulders of economic entities. Among these is the allowance for temporary incapacity for work and the inspections carried out at companies.

“The inspections carried out by the inspections bodies were systematized, but the ministries and other authorities create new agencies that have something to inspect too. On the other hand, the number of functionaries in the central public bodies is increased unjustified,” said the Confederation’s head. The representatives of employers also discussed such issues as the competition and accessibility of public servants and their availability.
