Candidate for mayor wants to revise heat prices

The candidate running for Chisinau mayor on behalf of the People’s Republican Party, Svetlana Maslitchi, pleads for revising the charges for heating energy. Maslitchi told a news conference on May 14 that it is not clear why the Chisinau Municipal Council increased the heating charges, mentioning about the fact that the decision lacked transparency. PRP considers it is necessary to create a unique thermal complex, which would include the power plants of “Termocom” JSC, fact that would allow reducing the charges for heating, as well as providing stable supply the year round. While presenting her electoral programme and that of the candidates for the office of municipal councillors, Maslitchi said that a strategic task of the team is to improve the dwelling conditions of Chisinau residents. In this respect, the party will significantly increase the volume of cheap dwellings. As for transport and communication ways, Maslitchi and PRP promise to renew the fleet of buses and trolleybuses, refurbish the roadways, crossings and sidewalks in Chisinau. In addition, the team of the PRP proposes solutions to the usage and maintenance of the dwelling fund, protection of the green spaces; promises to create new jobs and protect certain categories of population. At the same time, Maslitchi said that professionals should replace government-friendly city authorities. In addition, she condemned the involvement of President Vladimir Voronin in the election campaign of the communist candidate. 19 persons are running for Mayor of Chisinau, of which two are independent candidates and 17 are supported by political parties. 31 candidates submitted the necessary documents for the office of councillor, 18 – fielded by political parties and 13 independent candidates.
