The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection today launched a campaign to inform and raise the awareness of the rural population entitled “Get a vaccine for life to return to normality!”. The event was held in Hârbovăț village of Anenii Noi district. Public health and communication specialists go from village to village, from house to house and tell the people about the benefits of vaccination against COVID-19, IPN reports.
Denis Cernelea, secretary of state at the Ministry, said that mobile teams will travel by a bus to 24 districts of the country where the vaccination rate is low.
Also, training courses to promote immunization are staged for employees of the primary medical assistance service.
As part of the campaign, actions will be taken to strengthen community partnerships between the central public authorities, opinion leaders, representatives of religious denominations and to promote immunization against COVID-19.
Experts from Romania were also engaged in the campaign that is conducted within the World Bank-funded Moldova Emergency COVID-19 Response Project.
According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the COVID-19 vaccination rate in Moldova is of 18%.
