The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau municipality during two months will carry out activities in education institutions to inform and educate the students on the phenomenon of corruption and the necessity of combating this. The Division’s head Rodica Guțu stated for IPN that representatives of the National Anticorruption Center accepted to become involved in the campaign.

According to Rodica Guțu, the education sector, alongside the other sectors, is still vulnerable to corruption. In society, corruption continues to be perceived as an obstacle to high-quality education and as phenomenon that undermines the activity of education institutions.

The functionary underlined the necessity of strengthening and stepping up sustainable preventive efforts. The Division insists on the unconditional observance of the legal and normative documents that ban the illegal collection of money in general education institutions as class or group funds, including when the children are enrolled at kindergarten or at school.
