Campaign to collect stationery for Ukrainian child refugees

A campaign to collect stationery for child refugees from Ukraine entitled “Coloring Childhood” was launched by the National Library and the Association of Librarians of the Republic of Moldova. The campaign is a reaction to the current situation and represents a call for solidarity and also a proof of civic engagement. The collected supplies will be used in recreational activities for children that will be staged by volunteers of the Association of Librarians, IPN reports.

The persons who want to donate writing materials can go to the National Library daily, between 9am and 5pm. A donation box was placed in the main hall of the institution situated at 78A, 31 august 1989 St.

“The community of librarians of the Republic of Moldova supports democracy, peace and freedom of expression and creates a context for inclusive culture. We also consider that the children now need emotional support and we are ready to offer it by activities designed to ensure a harmonious atmosphere,” said the organizers.

The stationery will be collected throughout March. In parallel, there will be held recreational activities involving child refugees.
