The working group on the access of the press to the sittings of Parliament decided to allow the cameramen to enter the assembly hall as an experiment. These will sit on two balconies of the hall because the number of places is limited. The representatives of civil society and the mass media are to agree a rotation mechanism so that all the TV channels could have their own images, IPN reports.
Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici said there are no other available areas, while the chosen place enables to film more or less conveniently. The representatives of civil society are to work out internal regulations concerning the behavior of cameramen in the assembly hall.
Nadine Gogu, director of the Independent Journalism Center, said the sittings of Parliament should be further broadcast live, but the cameramen who want to film in the hall should also be allowed to enter. Together with their colleagues from other NGOs, they will think up behavioral rules for cameramen. “We will insist that the sittings should be broadcast live, but the cameramen should also have access,” she stated.
The representatives of civil society are to present the final regulations next week so that a decision could be taken. Initially, there will be allowed 10-12 cameras.
