The Moldovan-Russian relations saw positive dynamics in the course of 2016, Deputy Prime Ministers Andrei Galbur and Octavian Calmac stated in the program ”Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
“Visits were simultaneously made to Brussels and Moscow, where we disseminated the same message – the good relations must be continued. Looking retrospectively, in 2016 we resumed the high-quality political dialogue with the Russian Federation. A successful dialogue with Russia in the interest of our country was commenced. The Western partners appreciated our dialogite with Russia,” stated Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur.
Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said success was achieved in the Moldovan-Russian relations. “We had to go to Moscow for several times, with studies and arguments, so as to convince the authorities there that the implementation of the Association Agreement will not affect the Russian market and that the European goods will not invade this market. As regards exports, we have particular categories of goods for the European Union and particular categories of goods for the Russian market. I think that exports to the Russian Federation will be resumed next year. Surely this will happen gradually,” he stated.
