Call to Parliament and Government to contribute to “Revive Moldova” campaign

Director of the Mother and Child Institute Stefan Gatcan sent by a public letter to Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Head of Parliament Igor Corman, asking them to support the national fundraising campaign “Revive Moldova”, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the project.

Through the agency of these letters, Stefan Gatcan also called on the MPs and the Parliament’s commission, the Cabinet and the governmental institutions to contribute to the campaign.

“We respectfully intervene with the request for the Parliament and the Government to become actively and publicly involved in supporting the camping “Revive Moldova”, both by addressing the demographic issue and by making personal contributions and publicly supporting this campaign. The general objective of the campaign is to ensure medical assistance of a high quality for the mothers and children in Moldova,” reads the letter.

Stefan Gatcan said that he decided to call now on the MPs and the members of the Cabinet given that the executive recently approved a series of measures concerning natality and the conditions for mothers and newborns. On June 25, the Government adopted changes to the annex to the national strategic program on demographic security in Moldova for 2011-2025.

The campaign “Revive Moldova” started in April and aims to achieve several objectives with national social impact, including to reduce the risk of giving birth to children with pathological diseases by guaranteeing free access to modern medicine and to provide examinations, treatment and medical assistance of a high quality for women who want to conceive a child and for mothers with little children.

Those who want to make donations can send an SMS text to 9944 from all the mobile phone networks.
