The head of the Socialist group on the Balti Municipal Council Sergei Gramma called on all the Balti municipal councilors to combine forces and work for the benefit of the citizens of Balti. According to him, the councilors, regardless of the group, showed that they can work for the benefit of the citizens and the hometown, while the statements of odious politicians are aimed only at hampering work on the Balti Municipal Council.

In a news conference staged at IPN, Sergei Gramma said that he conducted civic and political activities during the past 12 years and together with the team did a series of nice things for the residents of Balti. “Now that my name and the names of my mates appeared on the list of persons who allegedly carry out illegal activities, this denigrates us and spoils our image before the citizens, including those of Balti, who supported us by their votes,” said the Socialist group’s leader.

According to him, the team will sue Our Party leader Renato Usatyi for his statements as these harm their dignity and honor as citizens, primarily as inhabitants of Balti.

Sergei Gramma made a call to the Balti councilors of Our Party and on mayor Alexandr Petkov. “Last week, we had constructive meetings and everyone united around the problems of the municipality, which should be dealt with swiftly. Consultative commissions were constituted. The heads and secretaries were elected. We solved problems that reached a stalemate the last few months. We also unlocked the budget. We can work for the benefit of the citizens, the residents of Balti and our hometown. The statements made by odious politicians are aimed at denigrating us and at hampering work on the Balti Municipal Council,” said the councilor, calling on his mates on the Balti Council to reach a consensus and continue the good things that were already done.

International triathlon master Alexandru Furtuna, a candidate for weightlifting master of sports, said that for over 20 years he has devoted himself to sport and represented Balti city. At the recent elections, he ran for councilor in Balti on the slate of the Party of Socialists. For him and his family, the presence of his name in documents published by a politician came as a shock. Together with his mates, he calls on the law enforcement agencies to do justice, to punish those who resort to slander, saying that those to blame should apologize publicly.
