Calin Vieru replaced with Victor Bodiu on PLDM’s list
The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) removed Calin Vieru from its list of candidates for the November 28 early parliamentary elections. The decision was taken by the party’s National Political Council on November 20. Calin Vieru’s place (the 27th) will be taken by Minister of State Victor Bodiu.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Larisa Manole, the head of the PLDM’s press office, said that the decision was taken by consensus. “Calin Vieru wants to focus more on his businesses,” said Larisa Manole.
Businessman Calin Vieru confirmed for Info-Prim Neo that it was his decision, but said he will make public the reasons later. Asked if he will return to politics, the son of the late poet Grigore Vieru said that it is not excluded.
The changes made to the PLDM’s list are to be approved by the Central Election Commission.
On November 20, it is the last day when the election contenders can modify the lists of candidates.
