The methodology for calculating the highest tariffs for the right of access to public property and shared use of electronic infrastructure was approved in the November 23 meeting of the Government.
This envisions the facilitation of the re-use of infrastructure by providers of public electronic communications networks by setting common principles for calculating the tariffs of services for ensuring access to telecommunications installations and channels.
Under the bill, the highest tariffs for access to electronic communications infrastructure will be calculated based on the direct costs, including the capital ones, sustained in connection with the offering of the right of access, and on the value of public property.
The set price will be modified only once a year and is to be communicated to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology.
The approval of the methodology encourages the development of public electronic communications networks at the national level and investments in the given infrastructure and ensures fair competition on the electronic communications services market. It also ensures the implementation of the provisions of the Law on access to public property and shared use of associated public electronic communications networks and of the national strategy for developing the information society Digital Moldova 2020.
