Calarasi district hospital outfitted with modern diagnosis equipment

The Calarasi district hospital received ten pieces of modern diagnosis equipment within the Kusanone Project that is financially supported by the Government of Japan, Info-Prim Neo reports. The financial assistance of the Japanese Government was US$75,000, while the contribution of the Calarasi district council for purchasing the equipment was 65,000 lei. During the signing of the grant contact, Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said this support is significant for Moldova. He thanked the representatives of the Japanese authorities for the assistance provided in implementing a series of projects in the health sector. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Moldova Toichi Sakata said that this assistance is a proof of the efforts made by Japan in the human security area and is a major direction of the Japanese foreign policy on international cooperation that becomes more and more important. The head of the Calarasi district hospital Mihai Tambur has told Info-Prim Neo that the equipment includes a biochemical analyzer that can perform about 80 biochemical tests and a trombotimer for blood clotting. He said that the hospital’s personnel have been trained in using the new apparatus. The Kusanone grants program was initiated in January 2006. Throughout 2011, the Government of Japan provided financial assistance of US$351,000 for human security projects.
