Cahul city area will take advantage from a €300,000 ecological project

The City Hall of the Romanian city of Galati in partnership with the City Hall of Cahul, Moldova, will implement a €300,000 project funded by PHARE of monitoring the quality of water, air and soil in the border area, the Romanian media reports, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The goal of the project is to assess to quality of water, air and soil through systematic sampling. The funds provided by the European Union will be used to set up two laboratories, one stationary and one mobile, which will test samples of water and soil. The main objective is to assess the contents of sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and air pollutants, such as volatile organic compounds. The findings will enable the experts to draw up pollution risk maps and find solutions for the environmental risks in the area.
