The members of the Broadcasting Coordination Council voted unanimously in favor of retransmitting the programs of the television channel TVR 1 in Moldova. Thus, the cable operators of Moldova are obliged to include TVR 1 in the channels roll free of charge. The BCC will allocate a slot in the experimental multiplexor in the Chisinau municipality area, IPN reports.
BCC chairman Marian Pocaznoi said that with the implementation of digital television by June 17, 2015, TVR will obtain a national frequency within 30 days of the request gratis and unconditionally.
The decision is binding given that the ECHR validated the agreement on the amicable settlement of the case of TVR against Moldova and closed the case. The complaint to the ECHR over the withdrawal of license for using a frequency fromTVR in 2007 was submitted by the Romanian Television Society in 2008.
On November 14, the National Audiovisual Council of Romania approved a secondary broadcast license for the Romanian Television Society with a transmission system for Moldova. TVR will resume broadcasting in Moldova on December 1. The new schedule will consist of the best productions of TVR and of productions dedicated especially to Moldova.
