Cabinet’s resignation offered and accepted
Prime Minister Vlad Filat on March 8 tendered the Cabinet’s resignation and President Nicolae Timofti accepted it, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting communiqués issued by the Government and the Presidential Office.
“Following the vote of no confidence given to the Government by the adoption by Parliament of the censure motion, Prime Minister Vlad Filat handed in the Cabinet’s resignation to Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti,” reads one communiqué.
According to the second press release, Nicolae Timofti took notice of the Government’s resignation and issued a decree accepting it. By the same decree, the head of state ordered that the leaving Cabinet continue to manage the public affairs until a new Government is formed.
