Prime Minister Pavel Filip agreed with his colleagues from the Cabinet to make effort and implement the overdue measures stipulated in the Association Agreement with the European Union within 30 days. The issue was discussed in a meeting of the commission on European integration, IPN reports.
“We took stock of the steps taken until now as such a meeting hadn’t been held for a long time. We set the goal of removing the drawbacks within 30 days and of returning to the national plan of action for implementing the Association Agreement in a normal regime,” said the official.
Pavel Filip noted that the Association Agreement with the EU was 60-63% implemented. During five days, the ministers will submit plans of action for taking the outstanding measures in the areas of which they are in charge.
The Premier also said that he and his colleagues spoke about the disbursement of the first tranche of the €150 million loan provided by Romania. “Last Saturday I received a letter from the Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos and the same day I had a meeting with the ministers responsible for particular areas. A package of actions will be included in the February 3 meeting of the Government. I refer to the package of laws on integrity,” he stated.
Pavel Filip told the press that he today discussed with President Nicolae Timofti the opportunity of convening the Supreme Security Council to discuss the crime rate and the measures that need to be taken in this regard, the protests and the actions of the state institutions and the situation in the banking system.
