The Cabinet approved the initiation of negotiations on a draft memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on the implementation of the projects needed to interconnect the natural gas and electricity networks.
Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov said that Moldova has consistent cooperation relations with Romania in a number of sectors, related also to interconnection, market operators, sale and purchased of electrical energy.
According to the minister, they aim to create a mechanism by which to constitute a joint working group in the energy sector as part of the intergovernmental commission so that permanent discussions exist on that platformă and projects are implemented faster.
The delegation that was empowered to negotiate the draft memorandum of understanding will be led by Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov. He will also sign the proceedings of the negotiations and will initial the text of the memorandum.
