Individuals and legal entities will have access to information and functionalities through a government application called EVO. The app will be available for free download through Play Store and App Store. Its concept was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.
The e-Governance Agency was designated as owner and holder of the EVO application. It will ensure the functionality and continuous development of the application. The first full version of the app will integrate eight modules.
These are the “digital document wallet”, “document verification” and “payments”, “personal data”, “public services”, “powers”, “appointments” and “health”.
Authentication in the app will be possible via electronic signatures and the Mpass portal.
The first modules of the application are in closed testing. Also, the closed public testing phase Beta is in preparation. The communication campaign is to be kicked off in early February.
The project is designed to help achieve the objectives of the National Digital Transformation Strategy for 2023-2030 and is part of pillar 5 of the action plan of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
The EVO application is implemented with the support of the development partners (Future Technologies Activity funded by USAID, Sweden and the UK, and also UNDP). The cost is over 3.5 million lei. In 2024, new functionalities for representatives of the business community will be developed with the support of the Future Technologies Activity funded by USAID, Sweden and the UK. The estimated cost is about 2 million lei.
