CAA says no air operator canceled flights from Chisinau International Airport

No air operator canceled flights to and from Chisinau. The clarification was made by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) following public reports about the possible cancellation of flights operated by Wizz Air from the Chisinau International Airport, IPN reports.

“In the case of a private operator, a technical error was made in the reservation system, which will be remedied in the nearest future,” the CAA said.

The Chisinau International Airport confirmed that there was a technical error in Wizz Air’s reservation system. “The airline is working to solve the problem and assured us that the situation will return to normality in a few hours,” the Airport noted.

“Wizz Air reaffirms its commitment to continue operating regular flights to and from the Republic of Moldova. Passengers planning to travel to Chisinau are advised to identify their destination on the airline’s website and in the mobile application using the new abbreviation “RMO” when booking tickets,” said representatives of the airline.

In March 2023, the Hungarian airline Wizz Air suspended all flights from the Chisinau International Airport, citing airspace security reasons. Wizz Air returned to Moldova in December. It operates the Chisinau-Rome, Chisinau-Milan and Chisinau-London flights.
